The cultural half of Japan without the capital. Four nights in a Gion machiya ryokan puts you inside old Kyoto — tatami rooms, a small courtyard garden, and Fushimi Inari fifteen minutes away by train. Two nights in Osaka finish the trip on food and city energy. This is the slower Japan itinerary: fewer cities, more temples, and enough unstructured time to sit in a garden for an hour without feeling behind schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

A restored wooden townhouse — tatami floors, sliding paper screens, a small courtyard garden and a shared traditional bath. Bedding is a futon laid on the tatami rather than a bed. It is the most memorable stay in the itinerary and the one most worth swapping out if anyone in your group has knee trouble.

A booking advance confirms your services; the balance is payable before departure. Rates are held only once the advance is received.

Cancellation

Cancellations more than 30 days before departure are refundable less service charges. Closer to departure, hotel and airline cancellation rules apply.
