Cathay Pacific and Google expand AI trial to reduce contrail warming

Cathay Pacific and Google are expanding trials of AI-powered contrail avoidance across Cathay’s Asia and transpacific network. The partnership will use predictive AI, satellite imagery and weather data to identify contrail-forming conditions and support flight-level altitude adjustments. An initial trial involving more than 80 flights achieved an estimated 40 per cent reduction in the warming impact of contrails, according to Google.

IndiGo to launch direct Guwahati-Bangkok flights from 27 October
